Nurse Practitioner Christy Benton joined Family Medicine in June 2000. Christy is happy to be a part of Family Medicine for many years. Christy is extremely passionate about providing quality healthcare to the community. Christy spent three years working at a heath clinic on the Navajo Nation prior to her time with Family Medicine.
Christy enjoys gardening, and especially enjoys growing native plants. “I have a rain garden which is all native plants of Illinois. I also have a nice vegetable garden with tomatoes and peppers,” she explains.
Christy enjoys both the great indoors and the great outdoors, as she has a passion for jigsaw puzzles, and traveling. National parks are some of her favorites places to visit and she hopes to visit them all. Christy also enjoys spending time with her two Labrador Retrievers, Hank and Sophie.
Most importantly, Christy is proud to be a grandmother of 15!
Christy Benton completed her RN and MS Nursing degrees at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. She holds National Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
